Three boxes.
The same Tag in each.
A KOVA Kit is the box you buy. There are three, named for what you are buying one for.
KOVA Welcome Kit
Your first KOVA purchase.
Starts your 1-year subscription and activates your first KOVA Essential Tag, in one go.
KOVA Expansion Kit
Another vehicle on a subscription you already have.
Adds a second, third, fourth or fifth vehicle to the subscription you are already paying for.
KOVA Replacement Kit
A new Tag for a vehicle you already have.
Puts a new KOVA Essential Tag on a vehicle whose Tag is lost, torn or damaged.
What is in the box
All three kits contain exactly the same four items. Nothing else is in the box — there is no Welcome Letter and no booklet.
KOVA Essential Tag
The QR-based KOVA Tag itself. The same Tag in every kit.
Activation Card
Carries the QR code that opens your activation page.
Instruction Card
Explains what to do.
Cleaning Swab
Wipes the spot down before the Tag goes on, so it sticks properly.
A kit is never activated. The Tag is.
You do not activate a kit. You scan the Activation Card, and that activates the KOVA Essential Tag that came in the same box. The kit is packaging; the Tag is the thing that becomes active.
The hardware, the cards and the scan are identical in all three. The kits differ only in what your activation needs beforehand, and what it produces.
What each activation needs, and what it produces
| Kit | What your activation needs first | What your activation produces |
|---|---|---|
| KOVA Welcome Kit | Nothing. This is the starting point. | A 1-year KOVA subscription and the included KOVA Essential Tag, activated together. |
| KOVA Expansion Kit | An active KOVA subscription, and fewer than 5 vehicles on it. | The included KOVA Essential Tag, activated on a newly added vehicle. |
| KOVA Replacement Kit | An active KOVA subscription, and at least one vehicle already on it to replace the Tag for. | The included KOVA Essential Tag, activated on that existing vehicle. |
Only the KOVA Welcome Kit carries a subscription, and the one it carries runs for a year. A KOVA Expansion Kit and a KOVA Replacement Kit activate a Tag onto a subscription that is already running — they do not start one, and they do not renew one. If your subscription has lapsed, renew it first and then activate.
Where the kits are sold
All three kits are on Amazon — the KOVA Welcome Kit at ₹999, the KOVA Expansion Kit and the KOVA Replacement Kit at ₹250 each. The KOVA Store, in your KOVA dashboard, sells the Expansion Kit and the Replacement Kit.
The Welcome Kit is on Amazon
Once a KOVA Store order is paid for, you can set the vehicle up from your order history, so it is on your dashboard before the box arrives. The KOVA Store also renews your subscription for a year, adding the year on top of your current expiry date rather than starting again from today.
Not sure which kit you need?
Tell KOVA support what you are trying to do — start out, add a vehicle, or replace a Tag — and they will sort out the right kit.
